The octagonal hall is the first room you enter as you come into the house through the tall double doors. From the hall, access is provided to the dining room, the drawing room and the stairs. Each face of the eight-sided room has a feature, be it the wooded door lintels, the alcoves or the panelled windows.

In the center of the room is an old oak table set with pictures of President MacAleese's visit. A fly fishing rod sits against the wall to temp the casual angler out onto the lake. An old telephone sits in the alcove, a reminder from a time before push button convenience! The croquet mallets? Yes we do have a set and you are welcome to try your hand on the tennis lawn.
