The crest that appears on each page of this web site is a photo of the stained glass window half way up the main stairs. On a bright day, the sun streams through the window, illuminating the delicate glass. The crest is that of the Atkinson Biggs family who owned the property for 150 years.

The broad staircase curves gently upwards pausing at a landing where there is a lavatory. Ah but this is no ordinary 'loo'. Have a look at this Water Closet - it is truly a throne room!

The stairs take you up to the bedrooms, each leading off the wide corridor. The hallway is covered in a wonderful vinelike wallpaper that adds to the country feel of the house.
